The Geek Backlog Tag ⋆ princessdeia

Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide has created a fun Blog Tag for all those people (like me) who love lists. As Michelle explains a Backlog for geeks is most often associated as accumulations of media that is yet to be consumed. Whilst this will include your ‘To Be Read’ list, it extends beyond that to TV programmes or movies to be watched and games to be played.

1. A Video Game in your backlog

Traditionally, a backlog refers to the list of video games you want to play. And oddly, this was the hardest question for me to answer. I play a lot of mobile games, like Pokemon Go or Wizards Unite, which involve playing for a while every day. With console games, I tend to buy and play games straight away. The type of games I love is sims games like Animal Crossing. Or I like puzzle games like the Professor Layton series. Which although you can complete the game, it is easy to pick up the game and play for a brief time. Saying all of that I have seen screenshots of Stardew Valley online, and I keep thinking I should download it. So I guess this is one game in my video geek backlog.

2. A Book in your backlog

This is a much easier question for me to answer. My sister has been trying to get me to read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman for ages. And whilst it is on my To Be Read list, it’s kind of low down. But I have promised her, I will read it before the end of the year.

3. A Movie in your backlog

All the John Wick movies. I have no idea why I haven’t seen these movies. For some reason, I missed seeing the first movie in the cinema. Which I didn’t seem to mind. With the release of the second movie, I became a little more interested, but still not too fussed. By the time the third movie hit cinemas, it became a bit of a joke that I hadn’t seen them. However, now I am thinking I should think about jumping on the John Wick train.

4. A TV Show in your backlog

I have always had a mini queue on Netflix of shows I want to watch. Recently, I updated this list to include all those anime shows I should have watched. And I am quickly working my way through the list, I watched Tokyo Ghoul in a few days. However, the show that has been on the list the longest is Pyscho Pass. I even mentioned in the Anime Challenge blog tag, how I wanted to watch this show.

5. A Blog Post in your backlog

For about 3 years now I have wanted to write a series about Batgirl. Not just Barbara Gordon, but all the women who have donned the cape and cowl over the years. As well as both of Barbara’s alter egos, Batgirl and Oracle. I realised quite quickly that this needed to become a series of blog posts rather than just one. As a result, I am taking my time and planning each post in the series.
