This October was the first month where we did things similarly to our pre-pandemic lives. Meeting up with friends for dinner, attending a Con, and going to an exhibition. I am reluctant to say life is back to normal, but it’s very much the new normal. I still wear a mask indoors, I am social distancing where possible and am constantly sanitising my hands. But, this was the first month where I have attempted to examine what my post-pandemic life would be like.
Currently Reading…
These are the books I am currently reading. I have created another post, rounding up the Books I Read in October 2021, which include reviews and ratings.
How to be a Craftivist: The Art of Gentle Protest by Sarah Corbett
The Dublin Railway Murder by Thomas Morris
Batgirl: Beyond Burnside by Hope Larson
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey by Shawna Benson
In preparation for the new comic book series The Batgirls, which launches next month. In November, I am planning to re-reading the Batgirl graphic novels from the Rebirth period. Starting at the Beyond Burnside storylines and the Birds of Prey team-up stories.
Currently Watching…
Like most people this month, I watched (and re-watched) Squid Games on Netflix. Originally, I watched the dubbed version. But, seeing all the comments online. I decided to re-watch the show with subtitles, which I would recommend. This month I have also loved Ted Lasso, Only Murders in the Building and The Great British Bake Off.
Currently Crafting…
I think my hobby this year has become buying crafting kits! Over the summer, I seemed to buy cross stitching kits, knitting pattern books and yarn, without making anything. So now, in the colder months, I am determined to use these kits. The first one I am working on is a beautiful Bridgeton Embroidery kit from Amelie Stitches.
Currently Listening to…
My favourite album of last year was Dave. So, this summer, I have become obsessed with his second album, We’re All Alone in This Together. I just adore this album, there are so many stand-out tracks, but I think Three Rivers is my favourite.
Adventure of the Month
It is so great to include this section once again! Obviously, the highlight of my month was attending MCM London. I still can’t believe we once again got to go to a convention after a two-year hiatus. You can read all about my experiences at MCM London here.
